INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR SALESPERSON POSTING

The Independent Contractor Salesperson will solicit new business and provide services for maximizing profitable relationships with insureds/prospective insureds.
Contracted Activities
- Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities with new and existing insureds in person, online, by phone, and through written communication.
- Obtain proposals from various carriers for prospective insureds based on their expressed needs, process proposals, and bind coverage. Follow-up with insureds’ and carriers’ requests as necessary with inspections, photos, and other requested documentation.
- Support and prepare insureds for renewal and retention and maintain strong relationships with insureds through regular communication.
- Collaborate with Agency employees and management, provide expertise, answer questions, and participate in Agency meetings as needed.
Expected Activities
- Hold/obtain and maintain a P&C insurance license, while meeting corresponding CE requirements required by the state that the Agency and Independent Contractor Salesperson is operating in.
- Keep informed regarding industry information, new and existing product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and services.
Desired Characteristics
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of insurance products and usages, rating procedures, underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively secure new business and maintain existing accounts.
- Possess strong presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skill with the ability to close sales.
- Demonstrate sound business judgment, strong decision making, and display strong written and verbal communication skills.
