The Independent Contractor Salesperson will solicit new business and provide services for maximizing profitable relationships with insureds/prospective insureds.
Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities with new and existing insureds in person, online, by phone, and through written communication.
Obtain proposals from various carriers for prospective insureds based on their expressed needs, process proposals, and bind coverage. Follow-up with insureds’ and carriers’ requests as necessary with inspections, photos, and other requested documentation.
Support and prepare insureds for renewal and retention and maintain strong relationships with insureds through regular communication.
Collaborate with Agency employees and management, provide expertise, answer questions, and participate in Agency meetings as needed.
Hold/obtain and maintain a P&C insurance license, while meeting corresponding CE requirements required by the state that the Agency and Independent Contractor Salesperson is operating in.
Keep informed regarding industry information, new and existing product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and services.
Demonstrate strong knowledge of insurance products and usages, rating procedures, underwriting procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively secure new business and maintain existing accounts.
Possess strong presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skill with the ability to close sales.
Demonstrate sound business judgment, strong decision making, and display strong written and verbal communication skills.
